    Your Thoughts of a "pro"

ON some sites they have a rating system to rate what level of graphical design you are at:

    Pro

    Semi Pro

    Intermidate

    Moderate

    Novice

Pro being the top and Novice being the lowest.

Some of these sites rank strickly off tags (signatures).

When I ask them what a "pro" is they say someone who makes really good tags.

My thoughts of a "pro" is someone who does make unreal graphics but pros IMO are people who get paid for what they do, and don't just make one type of Graphics.

So what are your thoughts on a Pro?

Re: Your Thoughts of a "pro"

well days like this anyone can make taggs, so i dont really like the label as pro. Because there are little kids 12+ that are making these signatures that sites are labeling as "pro".
But with the introduction of tutorials, brush packs and .psd files, it is really hard to call someone a pro who only makes signatures.

now maybe if they showed the ability to make wallpapers, large piece artwork, and other art work then maybe you could call them a pro.

another name for pro that would be better i think is "ACE" or something like that

A Pro is a designer of any major site with more than 1,000 members.

A Pro works for companies like, flashlevel or 2advanced.

    I'm a pro. Laf. jk.

Wink Re: Your Thoughts of a "pro"

I consider someone a pro when they have:
    1. a good amount of experience, not just 2 to 3 years, I'm talking 10+.
    2. someone who is involved in the industry and keeps updated and also is very well known among artists/designers.
    3. someone that really has a meaning/message in their work. Some artists, when you look at their work, by just looking you can feel and tell.
    4. and last, I don't agree that this person has to get paid to be considered a pro, they are many pros that I have met/run into that do what they do just as a hobby, and their work is just as good, if not better than the guy getting paid.
Pros are actually very hard to find, however, these days the word pro is really losing it's value, but portfolios and your work don't lie

pro = professional. A professional is one who engages in a given activity as a source of livelihood or as a career.
