    Cashing In

Damn Myspace is cashing in BIG on there popularity.

Everyone has atleast used Aim or MSN well now there is Myspace IM
    http://www.myspace.com/myspaceim

The saddest part is kids are going to use this simply based on the fact that its a myspace thing. Its crazy how this is the myspace generation :X

As much as I like the site to keep in touch with buddies from High School and everything I must admit the site is gay. I dont know though. More power to the owners of it there cashing in HUGE on it all.

haha i agree, i cannot stand myspace, the only reason i use it is to keep in touch with friends back home as well. But again it's something you have to respect, to have gotten this big, used by artists, celebs, talked about on tv shows, movies, its ridiuculous. Customizing your myspace is a nightmare, i think they could actually make the thing look a little better you know? But hey major props to them, they're just using $100 bills for toilet paper, so they dont care.

I've already got AIM, MSN, and Google talk, no need for myspace IM, they're also adversiting phones with myspace IM on there too, whats this world coming too, ugh.

couldn't agree more. However, Myspace had the advantage of starting a lot earlier then any other website out there in the same category. And because so many people post their personal information there and are so open about it, it attracts a lot of advertisers as they will be sure that at least some of those people will go to their site and post their personal information as well, that's why there is so many ads related to dating websites and such. I personally don't hate the site that much cause it lets me keep in touch with old friends, I would however like it a lot more if they redesigned the whole website and backend. Cause with all the money their making now, a redesign should not be a problem at all financially.

Also one other website that I'm keeping my eyes on is facebook.com. Facebook.com in contrast to myspace is very well organized and designed, it still lacks a lot of features comparing to myspace, but in time they will catch up if they find good sponsors over the years.

Yea I head of facebook Sean!

The thing I THINK about Myspace's design is they keep it simple like that for 56k'rs it is all tables you know. Loads ultra fast except for those 243234 ads haha.

MySpace IM has been out for a while, I downloaded it one day to see if anyone was using it, and a couple were -- BUT the thing was using over 125mb of ram to operate lol.

MSN and Yahoo have both joined forces over the IM network to try to take down AOL's AIM, and AOL has been trying to create a social site much like MySpace for a while now.

Maybe you can gage myspace's power by this example: Google purchased blogger.com years ago and it quickly became the world's largest blogging/syndication website. Myspace's blog feature debuted after and took Blogger's spot within weeks. Think of what else that could mean for myspace...

Just different companies combating for the monetization of the younger generation.

Oh yeah, my MySpace is www.myspace.com/halcyon5 if anyone wants to add me
