    Anyone Got a Mac?

I went to the apple store last weekend and got my hands on the PowerMAC G5 w/ 20" display, i have never set myself on such a beautiful machine, even the mac mini was putting out great results and the OS is so clean, I'm really starting to dislike Windows, too many viruses, i have to reformat the damn thing once a year if im lucky for it to even last THAT long. Anyways i had my eyes set on possibly just the mac mini with the 20" display due to it would save me about 1500$ anyone have opinions on the apple computers?

Tell you the truth I am in the process of buying a new computer (workstation) as well and have been searching a lot within the past few month for a good one. So far putting the ones I have found a side, Mac has been at the top list for me, especially the G5 and some of the laptops that Mac has out right now.

However the only good thing about them for me is that they are good for what I do and what I plan to do which is mostly aimed at graphics and also Macs have lower chance of getting viruses right now I guess, however if you are a gamer or plan to use it for other reasons, then you need to do a little more research. My dad's cousin actually has a Mac laptop which he got a few month ago from work, and I was very impressed by it, one was it's fast performance/speed, and two was the graphics. the operating system was desgined very well as well.

However, for me, Macs are a bit hard to get used to, I was always a PC fan putting the problems aside, and can't really see myself owning a Mac right now. But it's up to you and your plans, like what is the main thing that you want to use it for.

Personally right now, I'm stuck between Dell's and Alienware's workstations, however a friend of mine has offered to build a comp for me at a lower cost, but my main concern is support in case it breaks down.

Also there is another post that has some points that might help you, Mac Vs PC

sony vaio ... although sony support sucks. sweet computers though... macs are awesome... if your going to be doing alot of graphics, video editing, and actually USING some of the programs that mac makes then the computer is amazing. If not then your just wasting your money.
    .sig coming soon.

I personally prefer building my own computers, the current system I'm on right now is about 3-4 years old and I haven't had any problems with it. Its been going strong (besides the much needed reformat ). I have friends who got HP's and I must say they suck, I dont even have enough fingers to count how many problems they had.. lol. But if you know how to build PC's I would recommend making one, if not Alienware is really good but VERY expensive.

If you buy one of the newer dells (The high preformance ones ofcourse) You will get the same output as an Alienware. With Alienware, you are really just paying for the case, the "looks".
